Reflections on the National Convention in Las Vegas
Greetings, Arizona Democratic Women and friends!

I hope our June newsletter finds you enjoying these long summer days. My wish for you is that you're finding a balance between purposeful, satisfying action and rest, relaxation, and the enjoyment of family, friends, the beauty of nature, and simply being alive.
The National Federation of Democratic Women's (NFDW) Convention was held the first week of June in Las Vegas. It was my first time attending the convention, and I had the privilege of attending as your President. Important Federation business was considered by the body and several breakout sessions were presented that provided useful information for leaders and members from across the nation.
The convention was jam-packed with opportunities⎯formal and informal⎯to engage, listen, learn, and have fun. We heard from National leaders. Ken Martin, Democratic National Committee Chair, gave a rousing keynote address. It was fiery and personal. Based on that speech, I feel very comfortable with Ken as our national leader.

AZDW is a political action committee that began as a caucus of the Arizona Democratic Party. Its board meets online once a month and the group hosts its annual Women in Blue Day at the State Capitol or nearby at a luncheon, with state leaders as speakers. Dues are $25 per year and members have access to a monthly newsletter. To sign up, click here.
